Enterprise Thursdays Grand Celebration!
May 7th 2009.
The Grand Celebration was a great success with around 150 students, staff and local businesses attending. We heard inspiring presentations from the Eli Kelpie and Kaytee Miller of the SIFE Sussex team, Allister Furey PhD Student and CommercialiSE Fellow and Ed Stevens and Maria Welby winners of the Enter-priZe Ideas Competition.
There was a lively panel debate focusing on if now if a good or bad time for entrepreneurs with questions from the audience. The panel of past Enterprise Thursdays speakers included Neil Tomlinson founder of Just Drinking Water ltd, Tony and Judie Ellis co-founders of Conceptioneering ltd and Sophie Major head of the International Yahoo! Developers Network and one of the original founding members of Runtime.com.

The Speakers:

Kaytee Miller and Eli Kelpie from SIFE Sussex gave a presentation on the great work that SIFE Sussex has accomplished over the year in their two projects Inspir8 and Project Malawi.

Maria Welby and Ed Stevens, winners of the Ideas Competition Enter-priZe talked about their idea Recibo and their experiences of entering and winning the first ideas competition at Sussex.

CommercialiSE fellow Allister Furey talked about his idea and research into the area of renewable energy and his experience of the CommercialiSE programme.
