Newly promoted professors confirmed

The University has recently reported the promotion of 12 new Professors and 16 Readers to Senate.

Deputy PVC (Equalities and Diversity), Professor Andrea Cornwall, said: "With so many talented women at Sussex it’s fantastic to see their achievements being acknowledged and rewarded through promotion to Reader and Professor.

“Out of a total of 278 professors at Sussex, 85 are female. So we’ve a long way to go to get to parity – but we're working hard to make the University a more supportive environment for female academics. We’re proud of our achievements and we recently showcased these with a ’12 women in academia’ photo exhibition at the Houses of Parliament.”
