Awards and Prizes

Here at the School of Engineering and Informatics, we take great pride in celebrating the fantastic achievements of our students who excel, not only in their studies, but also in a wider variety of ways.

The Final Year Awards are presented at the Graduation Celebrations (this year there will be an online party for our graduates on Monday 20th July 2020 and graduands will receive an invitation to this event before the event day) and awards for other years are presented at the School Re-inductions.

Awards, Prizes and Certificates for the Academic Year 2019/20

Engineering and Design:

 

Final Year 

  • Brian Roberts Prize for Best MEng Graduate - £500 and trophy and certificate
  • Rohde & Schwarz Technology Book Brize and certificate.
  • Most outstanding student on an IET Accredited degree programme ((EE, EEE,CE) - not necessarily a final year student. The prize is two years free membership of the IET and a certificate. 
  • Engineering & Design award for An Outstanding Performance in Product Design - £100 and certificate
  • Professional Services School Award Students (chosen by and awarded by the School Office Staff - one award per the School) - Trophy and certificate
  • IMechE awards:
    N.B. Nominations for iMecE Awards have been submitted by the School and will be announced at the Graduation Celebration on 20 July. The Award Certificates will be issued once they have been approved by iMecE.

Informatics:

 

Final Year 

  • BRIAN ROBERTS INFORMATICS M.Comp Graduate - £500, trophy and certificate.
  • British Computer Society (BCS) Project Prize - £150 and certificate.
  • British Computer Society (BCS) Membership free for 5 students that graduate in 2020 for 1 year and 50%  discount on MBCS in year 2. These students will explain how they will benefit and support BCS.NB/ The membership offer has to be used by the end of march 2021.It is expected that these members will play an active roll in BCS and in particular with the local BCS Branch, ideally on the committee and liaison with Student Chapters.
  • InCrowdSports Prize - £150 and certificate.
  • Hare Digital Prize      - £150 and certificate.
  • A Top Informatics Project - £100 and certificate.
  • Professional Services School Award Students (chosen by and awarded by the School Office Staff - one award per the School) - Trophy and certificate
