School of Engineering and Informatics (for staff and students)

At least one supervision meeting should take place per month (one per 6 weeks for part-time students) and should be officially recorded using the system available on Sussex Direct.

This involves two steps:

(1) The supervisor logs the meeting on Sussex Direct (date, time, location, purpose).

(2) The student writes notes for the meeting and sends it to the supervisor for comment.  It is optional to put the notes on Sussex Direct, but both should keep a copy for future reference.

Supervisors can consult the short guide or full guide to the Sussex Direct event booking system.

Student and Supervisors can find further information about their roles and responsibilities in the relevant University Handbook.
