The MSc programmes in the Department of Economics at Sussex have several distinctive features.
These include an emphasis on the application of economic and econometric theory, through exercises and seminars, to policy issues and empirical questions.
All students taking the MSc Development Economics or International Economics study the core courses listed below during the Autumn and Spring terms and then complete a dissertation over the Summer.

Formal assessment for all core courses is by unseen examination.
MSc Economics students take the same core courses but they can choose from a options in Development Economics, International Economics, Labour Market Economics and Financial and Time Series Econometrics.
