Welcome to DR2
DR2 falls under the umbrella of the Doctoral School, linking staff
from departments and units across the University with expertise in
skills training and personal / professional development planning. We
aim to:
- Support you in all aspects of your professional development throughout your doctoral studies
- Provide you with a single gateway to access development resources and opportunities on campus, online, and beyond

On Campus
Development opportunities available On Campus include the Profolio Programme for First year doctoral researchers, Profolio Plus for all doctoral researchers, Doctoral School Researcher training such as STATA training; Effective Researcher programme; Part-time Researcher programme; Writing Workshops; the Doctoral School Mentoring Programme and Sense About Science Workshop,
offering doctoral researchers the chance to gain insider knowledge and
advice from Sussex research staff over the course of the year.
Participating in the programme will offer the chance to contribute to
case studies for publication. This section also contains Further opportunities across campus such as: IT training; careers; Library & Information management; Writing; Teaching and Tutoring; Enterprise
Online
You can take advantage of many opportunities to train Online, such as DR2 E-Learning for Researchers - 14 study modules that focus on essential research skills at doctoral level and beyond, accessed through Study Direct (you will need your ITS username and password to access the modules). development, for great resources at all stages of your doctorate, and
