TARGET AUDIENCE: This workshop is suitable for research staff and PhD researchers nearing the end of their thesis who are ready to focus on the transition to a publication.
WORKSHOP OUTLINE: This interactive workshop follows on from the earlier lecture on academic publishing in the 21st century, covering the state of the market for scholarly publications, online publishing, open access and more. This workshop is packed with insights into editors' decision-making and strategies for maximising the chances of publication in a competitive climate. It will include plenty of opportunities for questions and discussion, including discussion of factors involved in the decision between book and article publication, with the primary focus on monographs, with some coverage of essay collections.
This interactive workshop follows on from the earlier lecture, which needs to be booked separately. Places on this workshop are limited. This session is also repeated on the 19th June, 9.30 - 13.00
Participants will need to provide a short summary of their research interests prior to the workshop
