TARGET AUDIENCE: This lecture is suitable for all research staff and PhD researchers nearing the end of their thesis and ready to focus on the transition to a publication.
WORKSHOP OUTLINE: This is an eye-opening lecture on academic publishing in the 21st century, covering the state of the market for scholarly publications, online publishing, open access and more. There will be opportunities for questions and discussion. The lecture is packed with insights into editors' decision-making and strategies for maximising the chances of publication in a competitive climate.
This lecture will be followed by a half-day interactive workshop (either 18th June 13.30-17.00 or repeated 19th June 9.30-13.00) - booking for the workshop is separate as places are limited.
FACILITATOR: Josie Dixon is a freelance consultant specialising in publishing and research training, with many years experience working in the publishing industry.
