Sussex Doctoral School hosts the newly-established Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Doctoral Training Centre, one of a network of 21 Doctoral Training Centres (DTCs) in the UK, through which the ESRC will deliver support for postgraduate training. The Centre will receive around £3.5million in funding from the ESRC. With matched funding from the University, this will provide up to 110 Doctoral studentships over five years from October 2011.
Welcome to the new ESRC Doctoral Training Centre at the University of Sussex. The DTC brings together doctoral and doctoral-trajectory researchers from across the social sciences. Through six innovative and interdisciplinary research training pathways, the DTC is committed to providing the best possible grounding and ongoing support for doctoral researchers at Sussex. As a DTC, we are part of the ESRC’s national network of Advanced Methods Training in the social sciences, and have close collaborative relationships with our neighbouring DTCs at the University of Essex, and the Southeast Consortium. These are exciting times for the social sciences in the UK and at Sussex. These web pages give you information about the particular orientation of the Sussex DTC.
