CIE members invited to present on Muslim youth identities at 20th anniversary conference

Dr Barbara Crossouard & Professor Mairead Dunne present at anniversary conference

Following an invitation by Centre for the Study of Ethnicity and Citizenship's (University of Bristol) Director, Professor Tariq Modood, Centre for International Education members Dr Barbara Crossouard and Professor Máiréad Dunne presented the paper 'Secularism Undone: Muslim youths' national identities in Northern Nigeria' at the Centre's 20th anniversary conference (8-10 Nov) as part of the panel 'Politics and Secularity in Muslim Identities'.

The conference included many key researchers in the field, including Lord Professor Bhikhu Parekh (Emeritus Professor of Political Philosophy, University of Westminster & Emeritus Professor, University of Hull), Professor Anna Triandafyllidou (Canada Excellence Research Chair on Migration and Integration at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada), Professor Therese O’Toole (University of Bristol) and Professor Craig Calhoun (Arizona State University).
