CCE offers learning in a number of areas, including adult education, community engagement, working with employers and summer schools. Our location within the School of Business, Management and Economics (BMEc) supports much of this work.
CCE has 40 years experience of offering flexible courses to adults, including accredited courses, particularly aimed at people who wish to update their skills or improve their employment prospects, and non-accredited, short courses for those who are primarily studying for a personal interest – including a growing number of day schools. We are also home to the Centre for Deaf Studies.
CCE is also the hub for summer schools, including the Adult Summer School in July, and the well-established International Summer School which attracts more than 400 younger people to campus each year.
CCE teaching staff are specialists in the support of adults studying in part-time and flexible ways, and they have a wide variety of teaching and research interests.
