Careers and Entrepreneurship

University staff

We work with staff to support students across the University. Our Careers Consultants liaise with Schools to provide drop-ins and support. We can also help you to recruit student workers via our free vacancy advertising.

Our careers consultants

We liaise with Schools to provide careers drop-ins and workshops for students and offer advice on employability issues to staff:

  • career exploration
  • CV feedback and application review
  • applying for work opportunities and further study
  • interview preparation.

Career Lab: design your future

Career Lab is a programme of opportunities designed to develop students’ skills, experience, connections, and confidence throughout their time at Sussex. It is an expansion of the First-Generation Scholar’s Work Study Programme.

Sussex Graduate Associate Programme

The Sussex Graduate Associate Programme meets a growing demand from our graduates seeking to stay and start their careers in Brighton and Sussex post-graduation. The programme identifies short-term, temporary, paid opportunities exclusively for our graduates at the University.

Graduate destinations (DLHE and Graduate Outcomes)

We used to survey our graduates every year, six months after graduation, as part of the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey. The outcomes contribute to national league tables. DLHE has been replaced by Graduate Outcomes now, and takes place 15 months after graduation. Our annual reports show what our graduates do by department or school of study.
