Careers in Teaching


Are you interested in a career in teaching?

This informative session will cover how to find relevant training, what teaching involves and how to get the necessary experience. There will be a number of speakers - all of whom can offer some insight into a career in teaching - including:

  • a Careers Adviser from the Careers and Employability Centre
  • a primary school teacher (Westdene Primary School)
  • a secondary school teacher (BHASVIC)
  • three representatives from the University of Sussex Department of Education to talk about the routes (PGCE) into both primary and secondary teaching and how to get paid classroom experience in secondary schools
  • Teach First (training on the job in challenging inner-city schools)
