The Graduate Zeronaire: pay off student debt fast & increase your employability

In today's economy it's easy to believe you'll be in debt for most of your working life, and many final year students are fearful about their prospects for starting a meaningful career. If these concerns resonate with you, then we strongly recommend you attend the Graduate Zeronaire.

This dynamic workshop is split over two half days and is packed full of strategies and tools that could help transform your relationship with money and kick start a career, and working life, with you firmly at the helm.

  • tricks for managing a workplace budget
  • how to stand out from other graduates and demonstrate your financial awareness
  • how to master the psychology of money and step into a compelling future

Careers in Teaching: Science & Maths

Have you ever considered teaching as a career? If you have then we have some exciting news!

The government is keen to recruit high quality graduates into science teaching, in particular chemistry and maths. Tax free bursaries, up to £20,000, will now be awarded related to your science subject specialism and degree classification.

Why train to teach in the sciences?
At Sussex we are committed to producing teachers who can promote the study of Science beyond compulsory school age as a positive educational move and career path for all young people.

Worried that your degree profile doesn't fit?
Sussex University runs a range of subject knowledge enhancement courses in physics and chemistry (no fees and a bursary of £200 per week may also be payable) for those with science related degrees. To train to be a physics or chemistry teacher you do not necessarily need a physics or chemistry degree. If you possess an A level in either subject, and you are competent at maths, then enhancement courses from 6 months to one month are available for the right candidate. Come along and find out if you are eligible for teacher training and/or pre-teacher training enhancement.

This event is aimed at final year and postgraduate students in all science subjects (including Psychology).

NB: This session is also open to students from other universities. To register your place please email us at: careersevents@sussex.ac.uk
