UK JET Programme Presentation

UK JET ProgrammeThe Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme is an official Japanese Government scheme aiming to improve foreign language teaching in schools and to promote international understanding.
The programme was established in 1987, with 848 participants from four countries. Since then, these numbers have increased significantly, with around 4,330 participants from 39 countries going to Japan in 2011.

There are 2 positions available for UK graduates on the JET Programme:

  • Assistant Language Teacher (ALT)
  • Coordinator for International Relations (CIR)

For ALTs, knowledge of Japanese or previous teaching experience is not required.

Outcome(s): Find out how you can work in Japan through the JET Programme after you graduate.

Since 2000 SEO has helped more than 3,400 undergraduates secure internships with SEO's partner firms.
SEO helps students in many different ways including:
  • Educating them about the wide range of career options available to them

  • Mock interviews
  • Accelerated access to very competitive internship and graduate interviews with SEO partner firms

For those that secure internships, SEO additionally provides more than 100 hours of training and mentoring to ensure students taking part successfully secure full time roles - historically at least 80% do.

Come and discover how to communicate effectively with employers including completing application forms, designing CVs and attending interviews.
