Look at online learning opportunities to expand or develop areas you already know about or to develop new interests and skills.

There are thousands of online learning opportunities. You could learn to use specific software, look at a range of business skills (such as project management or SEO), or try something creative. There are loads of learning platforms out there, so take your time to explore them. 

  • LinkedIn Learning - the university has a subscription, so you can log in with your Sussex username and password. Learn technology, business and creative skills for free. For current students only.
  • RateMyPlacement Work Ready Virtual Experience - develop work-readiness skills to help you find work experience. Self-paced modules.
  • Class of 2020 - free elearning community platform featuring in-house training programmes from business throughout the UK
  • FutureLearn - includes industry-specific courses as well as professional development support
  • OpenLearn - free courses from the Open University
  • Google Digital Garage - free digital skills from Google, designed to help with your career
  • Duolingo - learn a language for free
  • Coursera - online, certificated courses by universities from around the world. You can register and review content for free
  • edX - 2500+ courses from 140 institutions. Many courses are free to take, but you need to pay for a certificate
  • Code Academy - learn to code. Take interactive lessons for free or take the paid option for extra content, guidance and projects
  • Udemy - 100,000 online courses at a range of prices. Look out for regular sales!
  • Domestika - online courses for creative professionals covering photography/video, design, 3D/animation, marketing/business and more. Many at reasonable prices.
