The nave of the church is very high and completely covered with mosaics, of which one represents the ascension of our Saviour Jesus Christ […]  In the middle of the vault of this church, near to the entrance door, God the Father is represented in mosaic: one can see also the true cross that an angel, coming out of the clouds in the sky, shows to the apostles at the moment when the Holy Spirit descends on them in the form of fire, a mosaic marvelously made.
