End of first century BC/beginning of first century AD – in the middle of the first century AD the windows were blocked and the outer wall facing the garden was decorated with a mosaic.

Brief descriptive contents of mosaic:

In the blocking material were lumps of plaster with Egyptian blue embedded in them, and some yellow and green glass tesserae.  These fragments presumably came from an earlier decoration.
