Brief descriptive contents of mosaic: Border of alternating oblong tesserae of gold mosaic and pearls of mother-of-pearl (MOP). Central motif of ringed, footed goblet with fluted body. Vertical stalk with MOP floret flanked by two palmette motifs springs from goblet. Flanked by acanthus branches of blue and green tesserae outlined in black on gold background, with MOP rosettes. Over mihrab is a rectangular panel of gold ground mosaic with the shahada inscribed in blue tesserae.
