Church standing today but main apse mosaic no longer extant, destroyed in earthquake of 1688. Had 3 horizontal bands – bottom priests including bishop.  Middle windows and columns.  Top Christ in scarlet robe blessing with 2 angels
.Church restored 1913-18, apse destroyed in bombing in 1944, more restoration in the 1980s.
