Date of mosaic: Mosaic redone in 1165 to suit the installation of Frederick Barbarossa's octagonal chandelier. The 12C mosaic mosaic replaced and reproduced a Carolingian mosaic with the same iconography. 19C reproduction based on a late sevententh-century engraving by Ciampini.
