Almost 200 Sussex researchers have joined Covid-19 Research group

190 University of Sussex researchers have signed up to join the newly-formed Covid-19 Research network. The network aims to co-ordinate and facilitate high quality research, with the ultimate purpose of having meaningful impact related to the coronavirus sars-cov-2 and the Covid-19 disease.

The numbers show the tremendous interest researchers have in joining the interdisciplinary network, which is a sub-group of the COVID Emergency Task Force. The network is made up of researchers across a range of Schools and disciplines who are already undertaking research, or are keen to join research in any areas relevant to the impact the disease is having on our health, society or economy. The network also aims to cultivate external academic and non-academic partnerships to understand where Sussex research can have the most impact and to achieve this effectively.

A smaller group, made up of both researchers and professional services staff, and which includes a number of Directors of Research and Knowledge Exchange, meet weekly online to co-ordinate the network’s activities. The group is currently developing research sub-groups around research themes.
