Reduced rail services to and from campus

Southern is running a reduced train service to Falmer station, by the University of Sussex campus, and across its network.

The rail company says the revised timetable is designed to manage and protect services for key workers getting to and from their place of work. You are asked to travel only if your journey is essential.

Southern are also having to cancel trains at short notice if staff members need to stay at home because they are unwell or self-isolating.

Friday 27 March

An amended Saturday timetable is running across the Southern network.

The timetable is available in online journey planners.

On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March

The planned service is expected to run. Southern will update this if anything changes.

From Monday 30 March until further notice

There will be a Sunday timetable across the Southern network. Timetables will be uploaded to journey planners on Saturday 28 March, initially for four weeks.

Further alterations due to planned engineering work (late in the evening and at weekends) may be made subsequently.

Further information

As circumstances change rapidly, Southern advise you to check before you travel, using the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner.

Southern say they will update live departures, mobile apps and service update pages as soon as they can.

Southern have also provided information on refunds for train tickets; this includes advice for customers who have season tickets.
