Have your say about your course in the National Student Survey

The National Student Survey (NSS) 2020 is open now to final-year undergraduates. The NSS is an important way to let us know what you think about your time at Sussex.

Managed by the Office for Students (OfS), the independent regulator of higher education in England, and run by polling company Ipsos MORI, the NSS is used to assess the quality of your degree as a whole. If you decide to take part, you should think back over all years of your course when responding.

Why take part?

Your opinions are really important. NSS results are taken very seriously by the University and the OfS. Results are made publicly available through the Discover Uni website to help prospective students, their families and advisors make informed choices about where and what to study.

For every Sussex student who takes part in the NSS, the University will donate £2 to the Woodland Trust for their work, which includes woodland protection and reforestation projects in the UK. This way your feedback can have an even bigger impact – by helping to cut carbon emissions.

Plus, complete the NSS online by 29 February and you can opt in to a prize draw for £750 cash. The winner will be randomly picked by Ipsos MORI after the closing date.

How to complete the survey

Eligible students can fill in the NSS online at www.thestudentsurvey.com at any time from 6 January to 30 April 2020.

Ipsos MORI will contact students by email with an invitation to complete the survey.

You can view more information on our NSS web page.

Kelly Coate, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Students, said: “The NSS gives you a unique opportunity to have your say about your time at Sussex. Your views matter and will help to shape the experience of current and future students.”

Filip Vasilijevic, President of Sussex Students’ Union, commented: “The NSS is a great way to make your voice heard and let the University know what it's like being a student at Sussex. Your input will help shape the University for years to come and make a real difference to incoming students.”
