Life Sciences to support Movember with walk and talk event

Movember logo

The School of Life Sciences is supporting Movember, the national campaign to improve the conversation around men's health.

On Thursday 21st November, staff and students across Life Sciences can join a 20 minute walk in the autumnal grounds, followed by hot drinks and sandwiches. The session will be led by Chaplain Chris McDermott, who will support a mindfulness walk and discussions around mental health.

Globally, every minute a man dies by suicide. In the United Kingdom, 75% of suicides are men. By coming together, the School hopes to enable discussions about men's health to encourage all to discuss the topic more.

The event is part of a wider programme to support student and staff mental health, which has included recent events for World Kindness Day and World Mental Health Day.

All staff, students and friends are welcome. Meet in JMS building foyer 12noon for a walk around the grounds, followed by sandwiches and reflection in the Robert Whittle room until 1pm.
