Aspiring Business School students invited to test and shape a new mentoring scheme

If you’re a member of our Business School BAME student community and want to:

  • build your confidence and develop your communication or leadership skills
  • learn from others how to build effective and meaningful working relationships
  • advance your development goals

then joining the Sussex Aspire Network could be next step for you.

Aspire is a new, student centred mentoring programme matching University staff mentors with student mentees. Over the course of three to four months, mentees will meet and receive support from their mentor – a member of university staff - on how to cope better with challenges of university, personal life and preparation for the world of work. This programme is part of the University’s commitment to closing the attainment gap for students who identify as BAME at the University of Sussex.

While the Aspire pilot initially is aimed at Business School students from BAME backgrounds, the programme will be open to any student once formally launched across the University.

Find more at the Aspire student workshop on 30 October 2019

To find out more and help co-create the programme, attend the Aspire student workshop on Wednesday 30 October from 13.00- 16.00hrs, room 115, Jubilee Building. Please register via Eventbrite.
