Have your say on campus travel

All students and staff are asked to complete the 2019 travel survey, which will help us to understand transport patterns and inform future priorities and initiatives.

The survey, which closes on 10 May, should take around ten minutes to complete. Please be honest with your responses: the information you give will not be linked to you in any way.

Simon Neale, Director of Estates and Facilities Management, says: “We encourage all students and staff to take part, as information on commuting and business travel is central for University planning and the further campus development.

“The results of the survey will allow us to determine the progress achieved in encouraging sustainable travel to and from campus, with the aim of increasing the number of journeys using alternatives to the car.

“They will also help to show if we are meeting the other targets in our travel plan, which aims to ensure a co-ordinated approach to addressing transport issues on campus.

“Issues highlighted in the travel survey will inform future measures to support students and staff to travel to and from campus.

“The findings will also influence any recommended adjustments to the current Parking Policy.”

As a thank you, all those who complete the survey can choose to be entered into a prize draw. Prizes include 10 trials for BTN Bikeshare (worth £10 each), as well as 20 tickets to try a bus for a day and 10 to try a bus for a week.

The survey work is being co-ordinated by Steer, an independent transport consultancy; if you have any questions about the survey, please contact
