Roads, access and other works

Refectory Road – advance notice of closure

A planned closure of Refectory Road to all vehicles will take place between 8am and 5pm on Monday 7, Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 January 2019. This is to allow for works connecting essential services and utilities to the new East Slope development site, which will involve excavation across Refectory Road.

The affected section of road is adjacent to Kent House. (Norwich House Road will be open for access to Bramber House and York House, etc.) There will be no access to the north of Refectory Road beyond this point.

Vehicles will not be able to access or exit the Park Village (P8) and Lewes Court (P9) car parks via Refectory Road during these periods. Additionally, buses will not call at any stops north of Refectory Road.

Access for emergency vehicles and Blue Badge holders will be maintained throughout the period of these works.

Zebra crossing by Sussex House

Works will begin on a new zebra crossing outside Sussex House from Monday 7 January, specifically between the entrance to Sussex House car park and the stairs down to Barclays, and are expected to last for two weeks.

Single-lane closures will be in place outside Sussex House in parts while the crossing is marked. Access to Sussex House, the car park and the drop-off bay will not be affected.
