Mid-year examination timetable now available

The mid-year examination timetable (for the period Thursday 10  to Friday 25 January 2019) is now published.

Check your timetable on Sussex Direct and notify SPA Assessment ( immediately of any errors or omissions; the deadline for this is 12 November 2018.

You can see the time and location of your exams on your Sussex Direct ‘Timetable’ pages, both in the 'Study Timetable' and in the 'Assessment Deadlines and Exam Timetable' page.

During the mid-year examination period (A1), exams are held on and off campus. The main rooms used on campus are Mandela Hall and Mandela Balcony (both in Falmer House) and the Sport Centre, which is located in the south west corner of the campus. Off-campus exams are held at the Amex stadium in Falmer.

Some exams have too many students to fit in one venue so take place in more than one location. Check on Sussex Direct to find your exact room.

Exams for some students are held in small group and 1-1 rooms; the location of these rooms are shown on individual Sussex Direct timetables.

Exams have been timetabled to meet the following criteria, as agreed by the University:

  • No student will have more than one written examination per day
  • An examination will not normally be scheduled on the same day as a formal submission deadline. However, should this be unavoidable, students are  encouraged to complete written submissions in advance of the deadline.
  • All approved access requirements will be met.
  • All approved requests for exams to be scheduled around religious observance are considered and met, where possible.

If you are taking exams, you should familiarise yourself with expectations of conduct in examination rooms.
