Join in with Digital Discovery Week: 5-9 November

This year’s Digital Discovery Week takes place from 5-9 November with a packed schedule of workshops, seminars and online opportunities.

These events will enable students and staff to

  • experiment with new technologies,
  • showcase examples of innovations in teaching and research at Sussex,
  • and horizon-scan for emerging technologies which will impact our sector.

The week launches on Monday 5 November with Sussex Digital Futures, which brings together leaders from across the University in a roundtable discussion chaired by Rorden Wilkinson, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and Innovation.

A new initiative this year is our digital creativity stream, led by writer Zoë Ranson and open to the whole Sussex community. To get involved, follow #sussexspark on Twitter and Instagram for a guided journey into creativity. Events include live flash fiction tweets and automatic writing for creativity, and will culminate in a curated body of work produced by our digital campus community.

Other highlights include immersive tech workshops with the opportunity to create your own 360° content, a makerspace and a dedicated digital wellbeing day.

This collaborative initiative is open to all staff and students at the University and is led by Technology Enhanced Learning and the Library.
