Departments

Department of Business and Management

Business and Management is a young department with ambitious plans for expansion. We specialise in energy management, governance, innovation and entrepreneurship while providing students with the skills they need to compete effectively in the work place.

Department of Economics

The Department of Economics at Sussex is committed to high quality teaching and research within a friendly academic environment. We specialise in research on the economics of developing countries, issues of international trade and labour economics. Our research is supported by substantial research grants from the ESRC and other sources. We also work closely with all the major international agencies, from the World Bank to the European Commission, and this depth of experience is brought to the teaching of our degree programmes.

SPRU (Science and Technology Policy Research)

In SPRU we have created a unique international research culture founded on collegiality and mutual support that spans the divisions between the pursuit of competitiveness and wealth creation, social inclusion, sustainability and development. We maintain close and high-level contacts to the worlds of commercial innovation management, public policy making on science and technology, and civil society.

CCE (Centre for Community Engagement)

CCE is a friendly and lively centre that offers part-time and flexible learning for people from all walks of life. Our activities range from supported learning to Masters and research degrees, and we work with a variety of communities and employers. Subjects range from archaeology to creative writing, opera to the environment.
