Who is it for?

Many postgraduate students can now build a placement into their degree. This training is for both academic and professional services staff who would like to know more about postgraduate placements, to help with supporting students and signposting them to services.

What participants can expect to learn

This workshop outlines the roles and responsibilities in the placements process of:

  • Careers and Employability Centre
  • Faculty
  • School office staff

Topics covered

  • tailored support available from the Careers and Employability Centre for students and staff
  • placements preparation 
  • employer engagement
  • compliance (Tier 4 monitoring; Health and Safety; due diligence)
  • the role of the Course Convenor
  • best practice and case studies.
