IT Services

IT Services aims to provide a high-quality networking, computing and support service to help all members of the University make the best use of information technology.

We provide a range of computer facilities. Our PCs, located across the campus and many with 24-hour access, have a customised desktop, a full MS Office suite, email and internet access. In addition we provide specialist software and a small number of iMac computers, along with printing services and safe storage for computer files.

Students in on-campus accommodation can access the internet via the wired connections in their bedrooms. There is also extensive wireless internet coverage across campus from cafès and other communal areas, as well as the Library and main teaching rooms.

IT Services staff offer help and support via the web, by email, over the telephone and in person. There is also an extensive range of IT skills training courses. Courses are available for both students and staff, and range from beginners level to advanced.

We also support 10 adapted PCs specifically for use by students with a disability or additional learning needs. In addition to the standard desktop, each adapted PC offers a number of assistive software packages.
