Salary range:  starting at £47,328 and rising to £54,841 per annum.  It is normal to appoint at the first point of the salary scale.

We wish to appoint a Reader/ Senior Lecturer in Canadian Law, whose area of research is any area of Canadian law, who will be able to assist in the development and delivery of modules of particular interest to our Canadian students. The successful applicant will also be expected to provide careers guidance to this cohort and thus a professional qualification would be an advantage in this role. Applicants will also be expected to be able to contribute to the teaching of a foundation subject.

The Sussex Law School (SLS) is a successful research-led law school, which also performs consistently well in the NSS. It is undergoing unprecedented strategic growth. Earlier recruitment rounds appointing new Chairs, Readers, Senior Lecturers and Lecturers have more than doubled the size of the Law School. The Sussex Law School is now continuing this exciting phase of growth and expansion by recruiting a further 6 academic faculty. Successful candidates will be enthusiastic, committed academics who enjoy working in a dynamic, growing department.

We are looking to appoint research active individuals who will make a strong contribution to the research of SLS in publications, grant success and impact. Applicants for appointment at Reader level will be internationally recognised research leaders and have a strong record in teaching and administration. Candidates for Senior Lectureships will have developed a substantial publication record and teaching portfolio as well as having demonstrated an ability to successfully undertake administrative roles.
