Salary range:  starting at £30,728 and rising to £36,661 per annum, pro rata.  It is normal to appoint at the first point of the salary scale.

Description

The University of Sussex invites applications for a Project Manager and Administrator.

You will support “The Herschel Extragalactic Legacy Project (HELP)” a  European Commission, Research Executive Agency (REA) funded SPACE cooperation programme.  This four-year programme aims to provide new techniques, tools and data to enable astronomers in Europe to capitalise on the surveys of the distant Universe made by the European Space Agency mission Herschel.  HELP brings together eight institutes across Europe and is coordinated by the University of Sussex.  The programme has 13 highly interconnected work-packages and a broad range of deliverables with a tight schedule.

As Project manager and Administrator you will have a very important role in ensuring that the project meets its ambitious targets, including maintaining, developing and overseeing the project schedule and smooth running of project meetings and local and international scientific meetings.  You will report directly to the Principal Investigator Seb Oliver.
