Take a pebble. Throw it. That's how close you are to the seafront. Nestled in the quaint narrow cobble-stoned alleyways of The Lanes you'll find Hotel du Vin. A mere 15 minute walk or 5 minute taxi journey from the train station and only 50 minutes from London Gatwick airport by direct train, the hotel is accessible to national & international guests alike.
Its 49 bedrooms are housed in a collection of eccentric gothic revival and mock Tudor buildings erected appropriately by a wine merchant, on the site of an old inn. Among the hotels many features are a heavily carved staircase with bizarre gargoyles, while the original double-height hall now houses the wine bar and Laroche wine tasting room.
The hotels luxurious bedrooms, are each named after a famous wine house, or local brewery (in the Pub du Vin). All boast facilities including; mini bar with fresh chilled milk for your tea & Nespresso coffee machine, Egyptian cotton bed linen, deep baths, monsoon showers and fluffy towels, all to make you feel right at home.
The hotel also has a unique cocktail bar, with an impressive beverage list alongside the inspiring Bistro. The Bistro decor is made up of reclaimed dark-stained floorboards, restored fireplaces, framed pictures and paintings, soft lighting and comfortable chairs. The menus are inspired by French home-style cooking with robust earthy dishes, and slow-cooked foods, Bistro du Vin's Gallic influenced menu has an undeniably British flavour.
Neighbouring the Brighton Hotel du Vin, you’ll find the old Sussex Arts Club has been converted to house the Pub du Vin. A traditional pub with a du Vin twist, serving a large selection of fine ales and a vast selection of wine which Hotel du Vin is renowned for. The Pub offers a more informal style of dining, with a very traditional pub fayre using only the best local ingredients.
The hotel also boasts 5 function rooms of various sizes and capacities, perfectly adaptable for any occasion. From the cosy Captains Table with its chandelier and working fireplace, to the impressive Dome Ballroom, complete with domed ceiling, Cristal wineglass chandelier and private courtyard.
