Salary: starting at £32,004 and rising to £38,183 per annum.  It is normal to appoint at the first point of the salary scale.

Job description

Applications are invited for Teaching Fellows in Medical Education, one in Internal Medicine, and another in Surgical Studies, at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS).

These exciting new posts have been approved by Health Education, Kent, Surrey and Sussex (HEKSS) as an OOPE (out of programme experience) for 12 months commencing on 2 October 2017. As it is funded by HEKSS the post is only open to current HEKSS trainees at/beyond ST3 level.

The posts will be based within the Department of Medical Education at BSMS located at Mayfield House, University of Brighton, Falmer campus.

The posts will be supervised by Mr John L. Anderson, Principal Lecturer & Clinical Courses Lead in Postgraduate Medicine at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. The post-holder will work closely with the MSc Internal Medicine or MSc Surgical Studies Course Principal and Course Leader.

The principal responsibility is to support and help develop the proposed PGCert/PGDip/MSc in Internal Medicine or Surgical Studies.

It is expected that the post holder will undertake medical education research in an aspect of their work for one day per week.
