Job description

This exciting new post has been approved by Health Education Kent, Surrey and Sussex (HEKSS) as an OOPE (out of programme experience) for 12 months commencing on 2 October 2017. As it is funded by HEKSS the post is only open to current HEKSS trainees at/beyond ST3 level.

This is a full time educational post with no clinical commitments. The post will be based within the Department of Medical Education at BSMS located at Mayfield House, University of Brighton, Falmer campus.

The post will be supervised by Dr Wesley Scott-Smith, Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow & Course Lead for Physician Associate & Simulation at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.

The principal responsibility is to support and help develop the delivery of simulation based medical education (SBME).

The post holder will contribute to teaching on the Physician Associate Course and our postgraduate clinical MSc programmes dependant on their specialty.

It is expected that the post holder will undertake medical education research in the areas of a) Accelerated Learning of Masters Students through case based learning directed by diagnostic reason strategies. b) An area of candidate choice involving Simulation Based Medical Education.
