The School of Education and Social Work is a leading provider of Intial Teacher Education and has an excellent reputation for innovation, quality and strong partnerships with local schools.
We are seeking a successful and dynamic teacher educator to lead, develop and deliver our expanding portfolio of Subject Knowledge Enhancement courses for Initial Teacher Education.
The University offers a range of taught and blended learning Subject Knowledge Enhancement courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (including Primary), Modern Foreign Languages, Latin, Computing, Geography and English. Details of which can be found here. The post-holder would offer strategic and operational leadership for this portfolio as well as teach and assess a specific subject strand. In addition there would be opportunities to explore other course developments and offer a wider contribution to service, teaching and scholarship across the school.
We welcome applicants who have experience of educational leadership, a successful track record of supporting the professional development of teachers, knowledge and experience of the UK education system and accomplished subject expertise in a relevant area. Applicants should have qualified teacher status (QTS) and a higher degree in Education or a related discipline area appropriate to the post is desirable.
