Applications are invited for the post of Senior Lecturer in Stroke/Geriatric Medicine and Medical Education at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS). The post is being offered in association with East Sussex Healthcare Trust (ESHT) where the successful applicant will hold an honorary consultant contract. The post holder’s primary clinical base will be the Stroke or Geriatric Department at the Eastbourne District General Hospital, Eastbourne which provides the acute stroke service for East Sussex.
The successful applicant will be an accredited physician with a substantial background in medical education. Ideally they will have experience within the following range of activities: delivery of undergraduate teaching, curriculum design, question writing, formative and summative assessments including, use of portfolios in medical education, electronic learning, teacher support and development and inter-professional learning.
The successful candidate will also have evidence of research output in medical education. There will be an expectation that this will, in due course, lead to grant income and that they will participate actively in the research endeavours of BSMS.
