We seek to appoint a School Administrator for the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the University of Sussex. The role is managerial, developmental and advisory. The key objective for the post-holder is to support the Head of School by ensuring provision of a professional and efficient administrative service for the School.
As well as line-managing a team of approximately a dozen clerical staff, the post-holder will provide information and advice to the Head of School and to the School’s Executive Group. They will be required to demonstrate sound leadership, competence in management, initiative and flair in dealing with complex operational issues, and an ability to present information in a timely and concise way both orally and in writing.
They will be expected actively to assist in identifying solutions to potential issues relating to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, student and staff welfare, research support and any associated matters. The School is also supported by a Technical Services Manager.
