Job description

The Sussex Centre for Migration Research, one of the world’s leading centres for research on migration, seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Co-Director and Professor of Migration Studies.

Working closely with Professor Paul Statham, SCMR Director, and with a network of migration scholars across campus, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to continue to develop the scope and breadth of the SCMR’s research activities and enhance its teaching and training programmes, which include thriving MA and PhD programmes in Migration Studies.

The SCMR is strongly interdisciplinary and applications are encouraged from candidates with disciplinary interests from across the qualitative social sciences. In particular, we welcome candidates who are keen to develop research agendas that address the key questions of migration facing Britain and the world in the contemporary era of globalisation that relate to one or more of the SCMR’s four broad thematic areas: Migration and Mobility; Identity and Cultural Diversity; Integration and Citizenship; and Migration and Development.

Informal enquiries should be addressed to Prof Paul Statham (paul.statham@sussex.ac.uk)
