Job description

As a legal adviser within the University’s Research Contracts & Intellectual Property (IP) team, you will draft and negotiate a wide variety of research and technology transfer related agreements across the full range of the University’s research activities, providing clear and pragmatic advice to your internal clients after identifying and assessing relevant risks.

You will have significant experience of drafting and negotiating contracts, including complex and multi-party agreements, and a good working knowledge of intellectual property rights.

Strong communication and deal-making skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a diverse and heavy workload from multiple clients are also essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

You will be a qualified lawyer or other individual with a legal qualification or have substantial relevant experience gained within the Higher Education sector, industry or the legal profession.
