Job description

We exist to support University of Sussex and; Brighton and Sussex Medical School students to get the most out of their education, preparing them for the wider world. We do this by providing sports teams and societies, affording students with opportunities to develop their skills and make friends. We also run an ethical Lettings Agency to ensure students have access to safe and affordable housing, preventing them from being ripped off by rogue landlords. We run a number of shops and bars providing students with cheap access to services, while securing 200 student jobs. Not only this but we also empower students to represent themselves on university, local and national issues that affect their education. We also run a number of other brilliant projects and support students to put on events that will ensure their time at Sussex is as memorable as possible.

As I.T. Coordinator you’ll be essential to the running of all our fun and rewarding activities. You’ll be working alongside students and staff to set up events, ensure the day to day running of our shops and bars, and much, much more. You will work alongside the I.T. Assistant to ensure that end user experience is maintained at a consistently high level. 

You will need to be able to apply your experience and knowledge under pressure and often independently, whilst being enthusiastic and focused with excellent customer service skills and a very keen attention to detail. 

Your average day will include supporting staff thin clients and virtual desktops, diagnosing hardware & software problems with virtual machines, preparing software updates, setting up of audiovisual bookings, carrying out general active directory network administration and supporting the EPoS system.
