Job description

The Office of Student Complaints, Appeals and Regulations is seeking to recruit a new Administrative Officer. 

The Administrative Officer will support the work of staff dealing with Complaints and Academic Appeals, assisting in the development of fair, transparent and effective student complaints and Academic Appeals policies and procedures, administering Exceptional Circumstances and Reasonable Adjustments claims and preparing recommendations as directed.

They will also provide administrative support for activities to ensure compliance with the Office of UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), and assist with events and committees where required.  The Officer will also be responsible for maintaining and improving office systems in support of their responsibilities.

Applicants should have experience in a similar role, preferably in a higher education environment. Familiarity in administering complaints, appeals or related student claims would be a distinct advantage.

The Administrative Officer will report to the Head of Student Complaints, Appeals and Regulations. Key working relationships include the Academic Appeals Officer, the Academic Development and Quality Enhancement team, and the Student Support Unit.
