Salary: starting at £24,983 and rising to £28,936 per annum, pro rata

We are seeking to appoint an Academic Services Supervisor to work within the Academic Services section of the Library. This is a part time and fixed term post.
The post holder will report to the Collection Development Librarians and will supervise collection management projects. They will assist the Learning and Teaching Librarians with the provision of reading lists for all taught students; selecting and purchasing books and other resources and assisting academics with the creation and editing on their online reading lists.
They will assist with the development of online support for students and researchers through the Skills Hub and the Library’s online guides. They will also support students on an individual basis via bookable 1-2-1 tutorials.
The post holder will support the development of services to support Open Access and the University’s institutional repository, Sussex Research Online. They will create support materials, edit web content and gather statistics to support internal and external reporting.
To succeed in this post you must enjoy working as a member of a small team in a busy environment. You must be able to demonstrate initiative, be well organised and flexible. Good web and IT skills and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. An understanding of the changes and trends in scholarly communication is essential.
Some weekend and evening work will be required.
