I like to cycle, both commuting and touring; I'm planning a north-to-south traversal of Sweden for this summer. I enjoy camping and backpacking, having through-hiked the 3,000 km. Appalachian Trail in 1994 and the 1,200 km. International Appalachian Trail "extension" in 2004. I hiked approximately half of the Tuscarora Trail in a week in 2001. I occasionally write short stories and poems including, so far, two poems in Swedish.

I dabble a bit in web page design, strictly amateur stuff, of which these pages are an example. A lot of the photos from my Peace Corps travels are at parthemores.com, although I have a lot more photos I should put up there. Also have a look at Wenchi Secondary School (old, and revealing of how little I understood HTML in those days) and Ayi-Owen School (also very old). Both schools are in Ghana, where I was a Peace Corps volunteer for four years (1997-2001).

I have an ecclectic assortment of friends, I think, sprinkled around much of the globe. Enoch just graduated top of his class from the University of Ghana, Legon, and is hoping to do a master's course in Sweden next year. Alan runs his own ISP in Portland, Oregon. Jack runs his own translation company. Jamie is studying graphic design. Malcolm, who also goes by Rannirl, runs a website off the beaten path, called Other Kin, not all of whose visitors are quite human.:-) Tom can fill you in on lots of tips for sewing and for playing theremins.
