The International & Study Abroad Office provides services to international students who are applying to Sussex and those already studying at the University, administers exchange programmes between Sussex and its partner institutions in North and South America, Asia, Australia and Europe (including those under the LLP Erasmus Programme).
One of the office's principal tasks is to assist international students through the various procedures that confront them. Many of these are additional to those faced by home students (such as applying for a visa and police registration); others are made more complex by the different circumstances of many overseas students (such as University financial regulations, accommodation and access to medical treatment through the UK's National Health Service).
If you are an exchange or visiting student we can act as a link with the coordinator/adviser at your home university over any academic issues that may arise. We will also provide opportunities for you to get to know those Sussex students who will be studying at your home university.
If you are a Sussex student planning on a period of study abroad as a mandatory or non-mandatory part of your degree your time abroad will be administered by the Office. We hold an extensive library of prospectuses and other relevant information about overseas universities and colleges.
Our reception can be found in Friston building and is open from 10am to 4pm on weekdays during term time (during vacations it is closed between 1 and 2pm).
